01 / ABOUT THE PLACE

About this place

One diner’s memorable bite at Kitsune Sushi was a piece of sushi topped with myoga, ordered as an extra during lunch. Alongside familiar seafood, the menu lists sushi with young spring onion, okra, pickled aubergine and avocado, giving diners the pleasure of choosing individual pieces to suit their tastes and mood. It’s a good option for those who would rather build a meal around seasonal offerings or personal favourites than leave everything to an omakase selection.

Bluefin tuna comes as lean, medium-fatty and fatty cuts, making it possible to compare their different textures and flavours. One diner who sampled several types of tuna said the distinctions between cuts stood out; another recalled scallop that seemed to melt in the mouth. The menu also lists mini rice bowls, including tekka-don with tuna and a tuna-and-avocado bowl, as well as à la carte dishes. There’s room to keep lunch light with a small bowl or add a few dishes to share.

Diners can order according to their own preferences, eat at the counter and choose from alcoholic drinks including beer and sake.
